The German Wine Eleven, the football team of the German wine industry, went down to a 1:7 defeat in its game against the team from the young wine producers association in Rheinhessen, "Message in a bottle".

The hot humid weather ensured the players coached by Lothar Böhm had nothing to lauch about against the much fitter young wine producers in the Rehnigau stadium in Geisenheim. The players from Rheinhessen dominated the game, particularly Stefan Winter as well as Matthias and Michael Gutzler kept the Wine Eleven defence on their toes all the time with their fast attacks. This was the thrid defeat in as many games against the young wine producers from Rheinhessen. (WF)
