Severe hail damage

Severe thunderstorms, coupled with heavy rain and hail, have caused significant damage to agriculture in Austria. It is claimed some 6.000 hectares of agricultural land have been severely affected.

The storms were concentrated particularly in Vienna, Lower Austria and in the Burgenland region, hailstorms caused severe damage in the area around Krems, with vineyards also being affected. In total, some degree of damage has affected around 6.000 hectares of agricultural land. (WF)
