Brunello president resigns

The president of the Consorzio Brunello di Montalcino has resigned from his post.
Francesco Marone Cinzano, president of the Brunello association, has announced his resignation. Patrizio Cencioni has been elected as his successor. The step can be seen in the context of the official investigations into the grape varieties used in Brunello wines, and the allegations of possible illegal admixtures. The association stressed that Marone Cinzano contributed significantly to finding solutions for these recent problems, and to setting the direction for the future. (WF)
