Switzerland had no chance

Following on its 4:0 victory against the Austrian wine producers un May, the German Wine Eleven has brought home another victory against a selection team of the other European Cup host country. At a gastronomic game in Switzerland, the German team beat the national team of top Swiss chefs, and later also won the tournament as a whole.

The tournament took place in Niederbipp, between Basle and Bern in the Canton of Bern. The first game for the German team took place in the early afternoon at temperatures well above 30°C: the team beat the team of the luxury hotel chain Victoria Jungfrau Collection by a margin of 7:1. This was followed by a close game against the team of the champagne house Laurent-Perrier, with the German team eventually going down 4:2.

The decision on the tournament victory fell in the final game: The German Wine Eleven beat the top Swiss chefs 4:1, thus deservedly earning the tournament cup, as the Laurent-Perrier team lost its other fixture. (WF/Press release)
