Wine-growing region (GI) in the federal state of New South Wales in Asutralia, it i spart of the Big Rivers zone. It is located 500 kilometres west of Sydney in the Murrumbidgee Valley; it is also known as the Murrumbidgee Irrigation Area (MIA) or also Griffith-Riverina, after the principal town. The leading red varieties are Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Table grapes are also produced. Sherry-style dessert wines are a speciality of the region. Well-known producers include De Bortoli (famous for sweet botrytis wines), Lindemans, McWilliams, Miranda, Orlando, Riverina Wines, Wilton Estate and Yellow Tail (Casella).
